Guest Review of Celebrity Eclipse Cabin

Cabin Score
75
out of 100
reviewed by Gordon K. of Glasgow, UK
Cruise Date:7/3/2016
Review Submitted:7/19/2016
Passengers in Cabin:3 Passengers
Past Cruise Experience:2-5 Cruises
Cruise Length:11-20 Days
Overall Room Condition Impressions There is a little bit of wear and tear, but, it is in generally good shape
Would You Book This Same Cabin Again? Its Not a Bad Cabin -- I would be open to trying a different cabin, however.
Noise In Cabin You could hear a good deal of noise, it was mostly tolerable The cabins on this deck (11) are below the pool deck. Things were fine during the day, but each evening it sounded like the teenagers aboard were having sprint races above our heads. They have this class of cabin on Deck 10, which might be quieter.
Cabin Odor No noticable Odors
Temperature Control in Cabin The temperature controls were VERY effective and you could easily maintain temperature
WiFi Signal Strength in Cabin 1612 The WiFi signal strength was OK
Lighting The lighting was good -- nothing extraordinary It took a while to work out the confusing light switches. This cabin is a bit like a studio flat with the kitchen/dining/living room all in one, but there are a few banks of light switches, with some being simple on/off and others dimmers.
Bathroom Condition There is a little bit of wear and tear on the bathroom, but, it didn't feel dirty
View From The Cabin Amazing view - I loved looking at the view every day This cabin has an unrestricted view from one of the upper accommodation decks. It is on the widest part of the ship, so is not overhung or restricted in any way.
Drawers, Clothes and Luggage Storage Very good. I was able to find a place for most things in the drawers and closet. I did have to use my suitcase to store some things
Technology, Comfort & Convenience Needs improvement. Undersized flat panel TV and an iPod dock
Lounging Space Very Good. Chair or a couch with a coffee or side table
Your Comments & Observations (OPTIONAL QUESTION) This is a really nice cabin and has a decent amount of space, but a few things could be improved upon. It has a huge TV in both the bedroom and living area, but no DVD player for some reason. The living room TV has a basic Bose sound system but you cannot adjust this and, as it backs onto the bedroom wall with the bass unit boxed into the wall between living room and bedroom, the sound travels right through. As we had a baby, we asked for this to be disconnected. An iPod dock is provided but it is of the old (32 pin) type so won't work with modern devices. There is a woeful lack of electrical sockets, with only one in the bedroom, one in the living room, and another in the kitchen. The European sockets were damaged (earth pins bent) and it took a couple of days and repeated requests for this to be repaired. Although the cabin has a "walk-in" closet, we found that storage space was still fairly tight, with a lack of drawer and hanging space. There is a whirlpool bath on the balcony, but it is a "bathtub" type, rather than the type that you can sit in like a hot tub. Only one sun lounger is provided so it might be worth asking for another one to be brought from the pool deck. This won't matter to most people, but we had taken a door hanging baby bouncer to entertain our baby. There is nowhere to hang one of these in the cabin as none of the doors have architraves. We did manage to hang it from one of the beams above the balcony but these are very high (great for everything apart from this as the balcony is not shaded so much from above) so we had to put a chair underneath for our baby to bounce on. Finally, it's probably time for a bit of a refresh in here. The furniture is a bit worn and tired and, although we didn't try the sofabed as a bed, it's no longer a very comfortable sofa.
DeckPlanGenius Review Authenticity Statement In a perfect world, everybody would be honest and there would be no "fake" reviews -- reviews for compensation, reviews by those with a business connection to the cruise line and even reviews by persons who never cruised in this cabin or on this ship! Use common sense and maintain a degree of skepticism with all reviews that you read.
