Cruise Length:11-20 Days
Overall Room Condition Impressions There is a little bit of wear and tear, but, it is in generally good shape
Would You Book This Same Cabin Again? Its Not a Bad Cabin -- I would be open to trying a different cabin, however.
Noise In Cabin You could hear a good deal of noise, it was mostly tolerable The main problem is this is an interconnecting cabin. There is a gap in the door frame, which was very cleverly fixed temporarily by someone in maintenance. We could hear every cough and people talking until then. Apart from that, as the cabin is sandwiched between two decks there were no other noises above or below us that we really noticed.
Cabin Odor No noticable Odors
Temperature Control in Cabin The temperature controls were VERY effective and you could easily maintain temperature It was easy to warm up the cabin with the controls on the wall outside the bathroom.
WiFi Signal Strength in Cabin 9534 The WiFi signal strength was OK
Lighting The lighting was good -- nothing extraordinary
Bathroom Condition There is a little bit of wear and tear on the bathroom, but, it didn't feel dirty
View From The Cabin Amazing view - I loved looking at the view every day
Drawers, Clothes and Luggage Storage Excellent. I was able to find a place for everything in the drawers and closet. I didn't have to leave anything in my suitcase
Technology, Comfort & Convenience Needs serious improvement. Undersized flat panel TV and no iPod dock
Lounging Space Very Good. Chair or a couch with a coffee or side table
Your Comments & Observations (OPTIONAL QUESTION) Cabin 9534 is advertised as being 20 feet bigger than the average Junior Suite. It seemed to be less than that to me, as we had a similar cabin on the Navigator (1652), which seemed longer. The furnishings are very old fashioned, and it could do with a total change of carpet and furniture. The carpet was green with a yellow pattern. The bathroom was on the right on the way in. It has two cabinets on each side of the mirror, with room for plenty of toiletries. The toilet was slightly close to the bath. We did have a problem with the bath draining slowly, which was fixed by the end of the cruise. There is a shower over the bath. It would benefit from modernisation. It probably needs a different colour, as the tiles are brown. There is a large walk in wardrobe with shelves and a hanging section, which holds a large number of clothes. The settee was slightly stained, we did not use it as a bed. There was a large chair with a stool. The furniture unit has lots of drawers for storage. There is a safe in the left hand wall unit. There is a central mirror. The television is on the wooden unit and has quite a few channels, including a film channel. The bed was comfortable. The balcony has two chairs, two recliners, and a table. The Cabin was very well cared for by our Room Attendant. The problem with the cabin is really the noise from Cabin 9538, which was suitably corrected at least until we left by Maintenance with some tape. We had to book a cabin on that deck as we booked late, and needed the space as we could not book an accessible cabin. There is a step into the bathroom and onto the balcony, so if anyone is in a wheelchair they might need help to get over them. We requested a bath seat and it was in the bathroom when we arrived. It is also a VERY long walk to the lift to the Windjammer, about a quarter of a mile(!) so be prepared to walk a lot on board and off. Overall, it is a very good cabin, and looked after exceptionally well, but does need refurbishment.
