Past Cruise Experience:My First Cruise
Overall Room Condition Impressions
Spotless. Everything is in top shape and feels very clean
Would You Book This Same Cabin Again?
Absolutely! It's a great cabin.
Noise In Cabin
No Noise -- Very Quiet Cabin
only creeks and pops in 15 foot seas
Cabin Odor
No noticable Odors
Temperature Control in Cabin
The temperature controls were VERY effective and you could easily maintain temperature
we never touched the temperature controls, left it where it was and the room was very comfortable for the entire trip
WiFi Signal Strength in Cabin 5003
Have you seen what the cruise line charges for WiFi? I can't afford that... (I didn't test it...)
Lighting
The lighting was good -- nothing extraordinary
Three light control switches by the door and bathroom, one controls the bathroom the other 2 control different sets of light through out the cabin. At the bed, one for each side of the bed, are 3 more light switches one controls a reading light the other 2 do just what the other 2 at the door do. a simple set up. There is one more reading type light at the decks along with 110 and 220 outlets.
Bathroom Condition
Spotless. Everything is in top shape and feels very clean
View From The Cabin
Amazing view - I loved looking at the view every day
The view out the stern of the ship is very soothing on the 5th deck. The white noise of the ship's propellers and water trail sound like a waterfall and allow private conversation on the decks without neighbors hearing. A very big plus for us.
Drawers, Clothes and Luggage Storage
Excellent. I was able to find a place for everything in the drawers and closet. I didn't have to leave anything in my suitcase
Technology, Comfort & Convenience
Good. Appropriately sized, flat-panel TV and Ipod dock
Lounging Space
Excellent. Combination of chair(s), couch and coffee or side table. Everyone could find a seat
Your Comments & Observations (OPTIONAL QUESTION)
The stern cabins are about 5' longer than the side cabins but the big plus is the size of the deck, its 12 to 15 long, from the patio door to the railing. Another very nice thing about the 5th level stern decks is they are 100% covered by the deck above. All the other decks are 1/2 uncovered and 1/2 uncovered. The weather on our trip made this very advantageous, we could use our entire deck when it was raining. The deck door fits so tight it totally locks out all noise from outside. We had new friends come to our cabin and said they would have spent more time in their cabin had it been this size. Being in the stern of the ship there are only 8 stern cabins per floor, so you vertically have no one waking by your cabin in the hall way. There are cabins above and below you so its very quiet. The 2 suites at either end of the stern are incredible, their decks face back but also along one side of the ship for a short distance.
