Overall Room Condition Impressions
The cabin is beginning to look "tired". But, it still appeared to be clean
Would You Book This Same Cabin Again?
Its Not a Bad Cabin -- I would be open to trying a different cabin, however.
Noise In Cabin
You could hear a good deal of noise, it was mostly tolerable
There was often noise from the shows in the theater several floors above. It stopped by about 10:30 p.m. after the final show. Also a LOT of noise when the anchors were set.
Cabin Odor
No noticable Odors
Temperature Control in Cabin
The temperature controls were VERY effective and you could easily maintain temperature
Not as much air circulation as I would like unless the outer balcony door was open in which case a slight breeze came through the inner door.
WiFi Signal Strength in Cabin 9002
The WiFi signal strength was OK
Lighting
The lighting was good -- nothing extraordinary
Hard to figure out which switches worked which lights.
Bathroom Condition
Spotless. Everything is in top shape and feels very clean
View From The Cabin
The view was partially obstructed
The only view really is from the balcony and that had a high solid railing. Inside the room there was only one window and the balcony door is solid so there was essentially no view.
Drawers, Clothes and Luggage Storage
Excellent. I was able to find a place for everything in the drawers and closet. I didn't have to leave anything in my suitcase
Technology, Comfort & Convenience
Good. Appropriately sized, flat-panel TV and Ipod dock
Lounging Space
Excellent. Combination of chair(s), couch and coffee or side table. Everyone could find a seat
Your Comments & Observations (OPTIONAL QUESTION)
This is one of the high end suites (penthouse; the only suites higher are the 2-bedroom family suite, the Haven suites and the Villas) but it is smaller--or at least feels smaller--than a similar suite on the Dawn (which we experienced just 3 months earlier). If the square footage is the same they layout makes it feel less spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable and nicely sized (if it was a queen it was a BIG queen as my husband is 6' 3" tall and I don't generally have enough room on a queen). There is a bench at the end of the bed that I kept tripping over as you have to go around it to get to the corridor for the dressing area and bath room. The entry to the dressing area is narrow and I also kept scratching my arms on the door and drawer pulls along the way. The small dining table has 3 "Jetson" style chairs that were okay but not the greatest. The couch could fold out for a 3rd guest to sleep but I wouldn't recommend it. My major complaint is with the balcony. It is huge but it is unusable a lot of the time. On our Caribbean cruise it was often too windy on the front of the ship when a side balcony would have been okay. The outer security door is supposed to be closed except when in port according to a sign on the door but that negates the purpose of having a balcony. I like more natural light than was available from the one small window. The inner balcony door is also solid so no light from there. There was also a sign in the room asking that we keep lights off on the balcony at night and the curtains closed to avoid night blindness on the bridge. But actually the bridge could not see our room and there is an overhang that would keep light from shining up to the bridge. That is more of an issue on Deck 10. There was almost no traffic past our cabin so it was quiet from outside. As I note elsewhere there was noise from the bands in the theater but that stopped by 10:30 p.m. and there is a lot of noise when the ship anchors for tendering, but again that is about 20 minutes so only a real issue if you like to sleep past 7:30 a.m.
