Overall Room Condition Impressions
There is a little bit of wear and tear, but, it is in generally good shape
Would You Book This Same Cabin Again?
Its Not a Bad Cabin -- I would be open to trying a different cabin, however.
Noise In Cabin
A little noise in the cabin -- you didn't notice it if you were not paying attention
There were a few noisy times in this room. In rough seas, you could hear the waves crashing against the hull since we were so far forward and low. It wasn't disruptive, and at times it was kind of cool to hear it, but if you want absolute quiet, this isn't it. The night after we had been tendered in Belize. We thought that the anchor or something was hanging out and clanging against the hull. We finally called the front desk and asked them to check it. They said it was normal.
Cabin Odor
No noticable Odors
Temperature Control in Cabin
The temperature controls were VERY effective and you could easily maintain temperature
WiFi Signal Strength in Cabin 4001
I couldn't get WiFi in the cabin
Lighting
The lighting was good -- nothing extraordinary
Bathroom Condition
Spotless. Everything is in top shape and feels very clean
View From The Cabin
Very good view
Because this cabin is so far forward there was actually about a 2 1/2 to 3 foot inset above the bed for the porthole. It made the room feel bigger than it was.
Drawers, Clothes and Luggage Storage
Excellent. I was able to find a place for everything in the drawers and closet. I didn't have to leave anything in my suitcase
Technology, Comfort & Convenience
Needs serious improvement. Undersized flat panel TV and no iPod dock
Lounging Space
Needs more sitting room. Only a chair and no coffee or side table
Your Comments & Observations (OPTIONAL QUESTION)
We were happy with the room. The TV was fine but there was no ipod dock. It was a pretty small room but cozy. I felt more ocean movement in this room than I did during an Alaskan cruise in a slightly higher room, but that may have been because we were crossing the Gulf of Mexico and the Alaskan cruise was mostly in an inter-coastal passage. The room steward was very good. The holder for the hair dryer broke while we were there and it was fixed almost immediately without us having to mention it. We got this room by buying a guaranteed obstructed view room. Although an obstructed view room would have been on a higher floor in a more central location, I am glad we got this room because it was nice to have a nice porthole.
